In the framework of cooperation between USTU and Freiberg University of Mining and Technology, from 29th to 30 August 2016 Ukhta was visited by delegation of professors from Freiberg: Director of the Institute of Drilling Engineering and Fluid Mining, Moh'd M. Amro  and research associate of the same institute Frederick Rose.

In the period from 31st July  to 8th August, 2016, two students of Ukhta State Technical University, Sergey Slabikov and Pavel Kanev, underwent practical training at the facilities of JSC "NIS Novi Sad". It has become possible thanks to the cooperation between USTU and JSC "NIS Novi Sad" and the Technical Faculty "Mihajlo Pupin", University of Novi Sad (Serbia).

Today, on 2nd August , 2016 there was a solemn awarding of certificates of completion of the preparatory course for foreign citizens to the development of professional educational programs in Russian.

USTU student Vladimir Mamaev became a finalist of the prestigious contest among students of German and Russian universities called «Young Visions Award», held by Gazprom and Wintershall Russland International GmbH. His work on "The use of magnetic cooling for the thermal stabilization of permafrost" was highly praised by the professional jury of experts.

This July one of USTU students returned home from Norway, where she studied during a spring semester on the exchange program called Barents Plus.

In the period from 12th to 14th July, 2016, USTU was visited by the director of the representative office of Petroleum Industry of Serbia (Нафтна индустрија Србије) in Russia Maxim Mikhailovich Voishchev. The purpose of the visit is to get to know the university complex and to discuss areas of further cooperation.

We do care of our international students and try to make their life in the town of Ukhta more confortable.

Even if our town is not as large as Moscow, we don't want our students (especiallly newcomers) to get lost one day. So we have prepared some route maps presented how to reach the main facilities by bus! We hope that it will be useful for you!

On 5th July, 2016, in the Lomonosov Moscow State University there was the Forum of Rectors of Russian and Chinese universities.

Last Saturday, on 25th June, 2016, a solemn graduation ceremony of Ukhta State Technical University took place on the new stage of the sports complex «Burevestnik».

This year, 1401 young graduates of Specialist, Bachelor and Master programs received their diplomas of higher education of USTU. 72 of them got a red diploma of excellence. The Vorkuta branch of USTU had 236 graduates, the Usinsk branch - 208.
