USTU Representatives Discussed Informatization Issues with Partners from Azerbaijan

Ukhta State Technical University remotely participated in the annual international conference "Electronic Nakhichevan: Information and Communications Technology in Training." This conference covers various areas of Information Technologies. At the conference USTU was represented by Anton Grigoryev, Head of International Department, Daniil Yuriev, Head of Department for International Information Cooperation and Projects, and Maxim Barabanov, Director of the Information and Computing Center.

On behalf of the USTU Rector a welcoming speech was delivered by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Emin Yagubov. Emin Yagubov noted that cooperation with the Nakhichevan University is developing rapidly and joint participation in this event is another step to form a strong and effective union.

At a "virtual" meeting the participants discussed the possibility of electronic information space. Director of the Information and Computing Center, Maxim Barabanov spoke about the system of remote interaction with USTU students, which includes such Internet services as Academic Performance Online, Schedule Online, Curriculum Online, Broadcasting of Major Events of the University Online and others. Mr. Barabanov also outlined the future prospects of work - the creation of mobile applications for iOS, Android and Windows. Daniil Yuriev, Head of Department for International Information Cooperation and Projects presented the project on international information media cooperation between mineral resources and fuel & energy higher educational institutions and companies called UTime news – University Times. This project is a mechanism that allows to combine education, science and business into a single force to promote the educational and scientific cooperation, exchange of experience and projects in the fuel and energy sector of Russia and other countries. In addition, the project contributes to involvement of talented children and students in scientific activities, career-oriented work across the country with the use of modern technology, to promotion of sports and culture, healthy lifestyle, as well as to development of inter-regional, federal and international relations of the companies and universities, friendship and culture between countries, promotion of the image of the CIS and Russian Fuel & Energy projects abroad.

The participants appreciated the work being done in Ukhta University. Rector of Nakhchivan State University, Professor S.G. o. Magerramov thanked the USTU representatives for attending the informational platform and invited them to visit Azerbaijan University to share experiences and build partnerships.
