USTU at the "Vuzpromfest" festival

On the 29th and 30th of September the 2nd annual national exhibition-forum “Vuzpromexpo-2014” was held in Gostiny Dvor in Moscow. Within this forum the first student scientific and technical festival “VuzPromFest-2014” was opened for the first time in Russia. The Initiator and organizer of the festival were “ Agency of youth information” under support of the Ministry of education and science in the Russian Federation, the Ministry of industry and trade in the Russian Federation, the Ministry of economic development in the Russian Federation.

The unique spot of the festival was that the best high school students of Russia could gather together in the same place and show their knowledge and opportunities in the field of computer programming, prototyping, 3D-simulating, robot maintaining, designing and presentation art.

By 2030 Roskosmos plans to send the first expeditions for building a base on the Moon. For that matter the festival feature was all the teams joining under one theme – “The Moon is ours” which includes the program of Earth satellite learning and building a moon base on its surface.

11 teams from different technical universities of our country got a “moon” task to design a 3D-model of an object which one could take with you onto the moon station. A month before the object was designed by participants and on the first festival day it was printed in 3D-format.

During next two days team members presented their projects to a qualified jury, took part in major discipline competitions and developed their skills in masterclass activities.

It might be well to point out that all the awards were made using 3D-printer.
