Severgeoecotekh has been opened for 17th time
The International Scientific Youth Conference Severgeoecotekh started on 23th March in the congress hall of USTU. A welcoming speech to the participants was given by the University Rector, Professor Nicholay Tskhadaya, who announced the moto of the event: “From smart universities - to smart cities, to a smart Republic, to a clever country”.
The geography of participants of the youth scientific forum has been very extensive. Our country was represented by residents of not only towns of the Komi Republic, but also Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ufa, Nizhny Novgorod, Almetyevsk, Arkhangelsk, Perm, Vologda, Voronezh, Samara, Saratov, Kazan, Tyumen, Novy Urengoy, Tomsk - and this is not a full list. This time the conference had 23 sections in different directions: from architecture, construction and forestry to computer technology, geology, ecology and economy. There were 665 reports presented, however, the number of speakers was less, because part of the works from other regions of Russia and CIS countries (Belorussia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, etc.) was considered the jury in absentia. Also, the practice of online reporting has been applied this year, when the participants presented their scientific projects through the Internet.
By tradition, the conference was attended not only by students and graduates of universities, but also by students, college students, high schools and gymnasiums of the town of Ukhta.
The student of the USTU preparatory department took part in the conference for the first time. His name is Nicholas Amoako. He came to Ukhta having a Bachelor degree in Informatics, which was found in his native country Ghana. After completing the preparatory course he wants to get a Master degree at USTU. Nevertheless Nicholas started learning the Russian language since last September, he could tell everyone about his project in the section “Computer technology and information systems" in Russian and was clearly understood. As a result – “silver” certificate for the second place.
And on 25th March there was the award ceremony of the 17th International Scientific Youth Conference Severgeoecotekh-2016.
