A Fulbright teaching assistant at USTU

Yesterday, on 15th September, late at night a long-awaited guest from the United States arrived at Ukhta. Sara Jean Mills, who prefers to be called Scout, is a grant-holder of the Fulbright program for teaching assistants.

This school year USTU had the honor to host an English teacher again to organize cultural training for her and provide her with a field for research. This interaction is not one-sided. Scout who speaks Russian very well, will be fully involved in activities of the Department of Foreign Languages, will be engaged in the teaching of English at Ukhta Technical Lyceum named after G. V. Rassokhin and the primary school “Rostok”, will organize the English Club at the international department and many others. In general, the program prepared for her up to June 2017 is sure to be eventful and exciting.

It is worth to mention that USTU becomes the host university for Fulbrighters not for the first time. Last year two teaching assistants from the United States - Katie Bascom and Victoria Pardini, with whom the international department still keeps in touch, had internship at USTU.
