USTU representatives participated in the International seminar "Knowledge for the future" at Nord University

On 10th January, 2017, an international seminar “Knowledge for the Future” and the opening of the spring semester at the Business School was held at the High North center of Nord University (Bodø, Norway). The USTU Vice-Rector for External Affairs, Georgy Korshunov and director of the Institute of Economics, Management and Information Technology, Mikhail Petrov participated in the seminar and discussions.

Events that took place during the seminar included the presentations and subsequent discussions about what challenges universities are facing now and how to interact with industrial companies as part of the educational processes. On this topic, Georgy Korshunov made a presentation on the experience and interaction with partners at Ukhta State Technical University. The theme of the presentation was “Personnel, scientific-innovative and communication support of creation and development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation in the context of solving state problems such as the popularization of workers and engineering professions in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation; the development of interregional cooperation; cooperation with businesses and enhancing information on the presence of the Russian Federation in the Arctic”.

Other partner universities of the Nord Uninversity also attended the seminar, as well as representatives of Total E&P Norge AS, Petroartic, RN Nordic oil AS and other companies. In addition, the meetings were held to discuss possible options for the development of cooperation between universities and companies.
