Association of Young Scientists (AYS) was created in 2008, spearheaded by rector Nickolay Denisovich Tskhadaya. Post-graduate student O.A Morozyuk was elected as chairman of the Association of Young Scientists. Association consists of young scientists and post-graduate students USTU.

 General objects and missions of the AYS are:

• Contribution to young scientists in adaptation and tightening up in USTU

• Lending aid to the young scientists in solutions of  problems arising in social and scientific sphere;

• Cooperation with the Young Professionals from enterprises and institutions of higher education of Komi Republic and other regions of the Russian Federation.

 Association activity:

• Searching and attracting talented youth to scientific and educational activities;

• Informing young scientists about scientific conferences, grant programs and other activities carried out by Russian and foreign organizations;

• Making arrangements about charitable events and projects for the development of patriotism

• Contribution  in organization of scientific and technological, cultural, sporting and other events in USTU
