Anniversary Graduate of the Preparatory Department of the USTU International Department

On June 28, 2019, a solemn ceremony of awarding certificates to graduates of the Preparatory Department of the USTU International Department took place. The event was a kind of anniversary: this year, the hundredth student received his final certificate- Ndlovu Nobleman Dumisa from Zimbabwe.

Without a doubt, the  obtainment of certificates is the most expected and exciting event in the life of future graduates of the preparatory department, it is the beginning of a new stage on the way to higher education.

International Students of the Preparatory Department Have Passed a Final Exam in the Russian Language

On June 10 and 11, International students - graduates of the preparatory department of the International Department of Ukhta University passed the exam in Russian. Students from Nigeria, India, Zimbabwe, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Cameroon, Ghana, Sudan impressed the commission not only with knowledge of the subject, but also with a thoughtful attitude to the educational process, mature reflections on the lives of great people, their own future and moral norms of society.

Delegates from a Serbian partner university visit USTU

Ukhta State Technical University is always open for cooperation, especially if the participants of such collaborations are foreign partners. The partnership with representatives of the Technical faculty “Mikhail Pupin” at the University of Novi Sad (Serbia) and Partner Company "Oil Industry of Serbia" is a great example of the international partnership. This alliance began in the spring of 2013, and the recent visit of the Serbian delegation once again proved its fruitfulness and effectiveness.

VII Summer School 2019 in Colombia

Ukhta State Technical University took part in the VII Summer School in Colombia with a lecture entitled “Some remarks on how technical requirements and regulations for the offshore drilling industry adopted after the oil spill occurred in the Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico are affecting exploratory drilling activities in the Arctic offshore”. The lecture was given in Spanish by Ramon Alfonso Perdomo Salcedo, a USTU graduate student.

Czech student completes her internship with USTU

On May 17, 2019, Maria Lukesova an undergraduate student from Czech Republic completed her internship course with the International department of USTU.

Maria arrived in late December in Ukhta from Masaryk University (Czech Republic, Brno) for an internship in the International department and conducting classes for foreign students in the Russian language in the preparatory department. Masaryk University is among the top five universities in the Czech Republic. Maria is studying at the faculty of arts at Masaryk University.

Celebrating the month of "Institute of Geology of oil and gas production and pipeline transport" at USTU

The whole of April 2019 at Ukhta state technical University was dedicated to the Institute of Geology, oil and gas production and pipeline transport department. Various events were organized. The organizers introduced students to the activities of their Institute in a creative way. The month began with "Week of geological museums" for schoolchildren, students and residents of the city, which was held on the eve of the Day of the geologist – in 2019 it was be celebrated for the 53rd time.

2019 International scientific and practical conference “Communications, Society, Spirituality”

On April 25-26, 2019, the international scientific and practical conference “Communications, Society, Spirituality” was held at Ukhta state technical University (This year it became the nineteenth - "without anniversary year". The geographical data of participants was diverse including: Russia, the Republic of Belarus, Ukraine, and even Kyrgyzstan. Researchers, teachers, doctoral students, graduate students, young scientists and specialists enrolled in master’s programs, as well as high school students and middle school students attended the forum.
