On January 3-8 on the basis of Ukhta State Technical University open Republican athletic dance rally «New Dance Generation Winter Camp» took place.

Victorious Games of Hockey Players

 On 10-11 January, at Ukhta Ice Palace named after Sergei Kapustin, took place the Russian ice Hockey Championships between women's teams. Old rivals met at the ice arena. They were ice hockey team "Arctic University" and "Tyumen Foxes".

These matches were decisive for Ukhta club. "Tyumen Foxes" team was ahead of "Arctic University" in the championship standings just in one line, and much depended on the outcome of these meetings.

USTU and Rossotrudnichestvo have signed a cooperation agreement

Ukhta State Technical University and the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) have signed a cooperation agreement.

On December 24, in Moscow, the Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, Kosachev Konstantin, and USTU Rector, Professor Nikolai Tskhadaya, have signed a document, which provides cooperation between the parties for the development, promotion and support of Russian education abroad.

USTU was visited by representatives of Wintershall Holding Gmbh and Siemens companies

Ukhta University was visited by the representatives of Wintershall Holding GmbH Company (Germany), Eric Lessner, and Aaron Behr as well as by the representative of Siemens Company, Andreas Koch. The main purpose of the visit was to discuss issues related to the test of the technology proposed by foreigners in Yarega field.

USTU establishes cooperation with Finland

In May of this year, USTU joined the universities participating in the program FIRST (Russian- Finnish student exchange program). The purpose of this program is to develop student and faculty exchanges. The program is funded by the Ministry of Education of Finland.
