41st class graduated USTU
USTU held its graduation ceremony on June 22, at MSC "Burevestnik" where students received their diplomas.
This year, for the first time in the history of the university awarding took place at the USTU educational and sports complex, "Burevestnik". University Rector, Professor Nikolai Denisovich Tskhadaya, opened the ceremony, "Dear graduates, we have worked together, so today we celebrate together, we sincerely rejoice that thousands of new professionals step over the threshold of the university today to lead their way to contribute to the development of our great country - Russia. I believe that we will give thanks to our university by good deeds only".
Guests of honor at the celebration were Deputy Minister of Education of Komi Republic, D.A. Belyaev, the Head of Administration MDCD "Ukhta", Igor Viktorovich Leonov, Deputy Chief of the MDCD "Ukhta", Viktor Nikolaevich Telnov, as well as Deputy General Director of "Gazprom Transgaz Ukhta", Fedor Georgievich Petukhov, and many others.
As part of the ceremony, Igor Leonidovich Shpektor, USTU Chairman of the Board of Trustees was awarded honorary professorship for his contribution in the development of the USTU university complex.
Following the traditional graduate oath, 1,140 young professionals, bachelors and masters of Oil and Gas Institute, Forest Institute, the Institute of Economics and Management, Geological Faculty of Architecture and Construction, Faculty of Information Technology, and Humanities received honorary diplomas. 87 graduates became the holders of diplomas with honors. Also, more than 800 diplomas were awarded to graduates of USTU Mining and Oil College, SGTU Industrial and Economic Forest College, and the USTU Industrial College.
After the awarding ceremony a column of young professionals in blue robes traditionally went along the streets of the city. The culmination of the evening was the taking of the pictures on the steps of KiO Park and a concert with performances of creative groups of the university.
