Producing oil on Krokhal!

On July 5, at Research and Geological Facility “Krokhal”, USTU, within the framework of the III National Youth Education Forum "Innovation: Krokhal 2013" there was the presentation of theatrical reenactment “Ukhta is the birthplace of the first Russian oil".

For a time, the participants and guests were turned out to be at the XVIII century: they witnessed the production of the first 40 pounds of Ukhta oil by industrialist, Fyodor Pryadunov, in 1746. After that, together with ore searcher, Fyodor Savelevich,  viewers 'off' first to the Berg-board, and then to the reception room of Count Shuvalov to meet with the first Russian natural scientist of world importance, polymath, a chemist and physicist Mikhail Vasilyevich Lomonosov. That was the meeting that has contributed to the emergence of the first oil field in Russia on Ukhta River and probably Petroleum University that today is called as Ukhta State Technical University.

Theater renovation was presented as part of USTU large-scale information and communication project "Ukhta is the birthplace of the first Russian oil". The core of the project, according to USTU leadership, will be the concept of the museum under the open sky, the main exhibitions of which will the reconstructed objects that embody the most significant milestones in the history of Ukhta oil production.

In this context, according to the authors, the primary goal of the project is comprehensive coverage of this historical fact in the information and communication, cultural and educational environment.
