Agreement between USTU and Orphanage

On February 19, 2014, at Ukhta State Technical University, took place ceremonial signing of the cooperation agreement between USTU and specialized Ukhta orphanage.

The event was attended by USTU Rector, Professor Nikolai Denisovich Tskhadaya; Director of the Orphanage, Marina Anatolevna Berezkina; Vice-Rector on Educational Work and Social Affairs, Dmitry Nikolaevich Bezgodov; Orphanage Social Worker, Natalia Nikolaevna Durkina; Orphanage Senior Teacher, Elena Nikolaevna Martyukova; the Head of Students Social Protection Department, Irina Vladimirovna Litvinova; Social Worker on Education and Leisure Activities Management, Tatiana Alexandrovna Terenteva; the Deputy Head of the Educational Work and Leisure Activities, Victoria Alekseevna Pulkina; Deputy Head of USTU Strategic Communications Department, Elena Veniaminovna Kolesnichenko; as well as university complex students-volunteers.

Tskhadaya N.D. welcomed the participants. He noted that the University has a rich experience of cooperation with institutions, where children without parental care grow up. According to Nikolai Denisovich, the ideal situation is when society would not need boarding schools and orphanages. However, the situation is reverse. We must provide comprehensive assistance and to be indifferent to the fate of these children. Rector also stressed that they should put the agreement into real action: among them are walks with children, construction of playgrounds, scientific and methodical work, promoting the orphanage staff in the development of information technology, organization and carrying out joint social, cultural and sporting events.

In turn, M.A. Berezkina thanked students, who patronize small pupils, and hoped that volunteers would help children to feel the emotional atmosphere of the family.

More than 50 students of the university complex, including students of Mining Oil and Industrial and Economic Forestry Colleges became volunteers to assist orphanage pupils.
