Summarizing Innovation: Krokhal 2014

From 8 to 12 July the USTU Krokhal tourist camp hosted Interregional Youth Educational Forum called Innovation: Krokhal 2014.

The solemn opening ceremony was held on July 8, where welcoming speeches to the participants and guests of the Innovation Forum were delivered by the Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Komi, I.N. Kovzel; Head of Administration of Municipal Urban District "Ukhta", I.N. Mikhel; Head of Municipal Urban District "Ukhta" - Chairperson of the Council of Municipal Urban District "Ukhta", R.V. Melnik;USTU Rector, Professor N.D. Tskhadaya; Rector of the Komi Republican Academy of State Service and Administration, N.A. Nesterova; SFI Rector V.V. Zhideleva; General Director of LLC LUKOIL-Ukhtaneftepererabotka, R.R. Gimaletdinov; head of Department of Education, Additional Education and Youth Policy of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Komi, S.V. Zherebtsov; Manager of Ukhta department of OJSC Sberbank of Russia’s Komi Branch, A.V. Sazhin; SyktSU first vice-rector, A.I. Pavlov.

The historical reconstruction called Landing of a Geological Group on the Chibyu River became a surprise for the viewers and caused great interest among them. The reconstruction presented the history of Ukhta in a very interesting way.

Over 200 activists from different parts of the Komi Republic, namely from Aikino, Vorkuta, Vuktyl, Emva, Zheshart, Izhma, Inta, Knyazhpogost, Kozhva, Kortkeross, Mikun, Pazhga, Pechora, Sosnogorsk, Syktyvkar, Troitsko-Pechorsk, Udora, Ust-Vym, Ust-Kulom and Ukhta arrived to participate in the Innovation. Besides participants from our region, also participating in the forum were representatives of Severodvinsk, Kaliningrad and Moscow. In total, the forum involved more than three hundred people.

After the solemn opening of the Forum the following educational venues started their work: Personnel Club, Health-Saving Technology, Technopark with the Technical Creativity subsection, You Are Entrepreneur and Civilization of Russia. Additionally, there were two cross-cutting sections: UMNIK and Media Stream.

For five days, young innovators attended the lectures of such renowned speakers as Alexander Selyutin - Head of Committee on Informatization and Communications of the Republic of Komi; Gleb Tyurin - Director of the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Initiatives (Arkhangelsk), social technologist; Sergey Kreknin - business coach; Anatoly Wasserman - journalist, political consultant, a multiple winner of intellectual game shows; Nurali Latypov - journalist, political and scientific adviser; Sergey Meshkelo - Director of JSC MTS in Syktyvkar; Leonid Ivashov – Colonel General, President of the Academy of Geopolitical Problems, Doctor of Historical Sciences; Andrey Borisov - TV journalist of the Channel One, as well as many other regional and national experts. Also included in the forum was a meeting "without ties" with the Minister of Education of the Republic of Komi Vladimir Sharkov.

The Forum programme was aimed at the professional growth of young professionals and scientists, as well as on the formation of the country’s talent pool.

In addition to the educational programme the forum included the following evening entertainment activities for all participants: "Very lively starts," master classes in photography, Latin American dances, Zumba, tai-bo, Kizomba, as well as an intellectual game "Brain Ring".

Solemn closing of the Innovation: Krokhal 2014 Forum and summarizing the work of venues took place on July 12, during which interventions were made by Head of Administration of Municipal Urban District "Ukhta", I.N. Mikhel; USTU Rector, Professor N.D. Tskhadaya; Minister of Education of the Republic of Komi, V.V. Sharkov; Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Komi, D.A. Belyaev; journalist A.A. Wasserman; journalist N.N. Latypov; Colonel General L.G. Ivashov; national poet of Komi Republic, member of the Secretariat of the Writers Union of the Russian Federation, N.A. Miroshnichenko; as well as heads of thematic areas. All speakers expressed the wish that the next anniversary next year Innovation: Krokhal 2015 should take place having the status of the District Forum. The ceremony ended with taking pictures.
