USTU Takes Part in the INZHPROMFEST- MEPhI Festival

On December 16-17, 2014 Moscow hosted the Open Festival of engineering and industrial design among student teams from Russian universities INZHPROMFEST- MEPhI. The organizer of the festival is the Youth Information Agency.

All competitions are linked by a single theme "Moon is Ours", which includes a programme of the Moon development and the creation of a lunar base on the Moon's surface. The uniqueness of the festival lies in the fact that the best students of Russia's universities were able to gather at one site and to demonstrate their knowledge and capabilities in the field of computer programming, prototyping, 3D modeling, industrial design, engineering and management of technical objects.

The event was held at the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute (MEPhI), which brought together the teams from eight Russian universities. Participants competed in individual disciplines and in the team event. Lecturers and speakers shared their experiences, conducted interesting trainings and gave advice. Following the festival results, USTU team won prizes in the Best Presentation Contest and Creativity Competition (industrial design) nominations.

USTU team included the following members:

• Dmitry Omelyanenko, design engineer, student of IST-10 group;
• Oleg Ordin, industrial designer, USAAA student;
• Diana Abitova, economist (marketing manager), student of M-1-12 group;
• Alexey Modanov, programmer, student of AIS-10group;
• Ruslan Mavlyutov, project manager, engineer at Scientific Resources Common Use Center.
