Visit of the Serbian delegation to USTU

Ukhta University is always open for cooperation of various kinds: both in the scientific field and cultural one. However, if the parties of such cooperation are foreign partners, it becomes doubly important, as, for example, cooperation with the representatives of educational institutions from Serbia, which began in spring, 2013. The recent visit of delegation from Serbia to USTU was in early April. The delegation consisted of 8 people, headed by Milan Pavlovic, Professor, Dean of the Technical Faculty “Mihajlo Pupin” of University of Novi Sad (Serbia, Zrenjanin), who visited our university and the town of Ukhta before. In addition to representatives of the Technical Faculty “Mihajlo Pupin” of University of Novi Sad, there also was Vladimir Pavlov, the Secretary for scientific and technological development of the region of Vojvodina (Serbia), and Mia Jesic, a representative of the company NIS (Oil Industry of Serbia), Gazprom Neft (Serbia).

The aim of the delegation visit was to discuss and develop joint educational programs between the USTU and the Technical Faculty “Mihajlo Pupin” and to organize industrial trainings for students from Serbia to Ukhta University, which is due to be implemented this summer.

Despite the fact that the key event of the four-day meeting was a round table and the subsequent signing of the minutes of deliberations, many other activities for the Serbian delegation were arranged by International Department. They gave a chance to Serbian guests to visit and get to know the maximum number of remarkable objects of USTU and the town of Ukhta within a short period of time. Excursions to the USTU museum, Local History Museum of Ukhta, personolized university laboratories, a TV studio, a business incubator, a visit to Oil and Gas College, to the exhibition halls of the Complex Gazprom Transgaz Ukhta, Training - Production Center of Gazprom Transgaz Ukhta, sport complex “Burevestnik”, and the meeting with the USTU basketball team “Planet-University” and the current coach Zlatan Presic, who is also a citizen of Serbia. And this is not a complete list of places that visitors from Serbia had visited.

The meeting was very fruitful and varied and has surely impressed foreign guests.
