The delegation of the Embassy of Venezuela at USTU

In order to develop the educational, scientific and technological cooperation in the field of oil and gas and the strengthening of friendly relations between Venezuela and Russia the delegation of the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the Russian Federation consisting of four people headed by a ministate counsellor of policy and energy issues, Hoglys Jesús Martínez Núñez, visited USTU in the period from 31st October to 2nd November, 2016.

During the visit, the guests managed to see a lot of remarkable places of Ukhta and objects of USTU campus. The guests were getting to know with the University with a tour through the personalized classrooms and laboratories of the main building, a visit to the practical training ground, the center of collective use of scientific resources and USTU museum.

The second day of the visit was even more complete, because the participants of the delegation were to get acquainted with the life of USTU international students, the building "K" and "L", sports complex "Burevestnik", to discuss problems of high-viscosity oil development in Russia and Venezuela with an assistant professor of the department of design and operation of oil and gas fields and underground hydromechanics, Morozyuk O. A. After lunch the represantatives of the Embassy of Venezuela had a meeting with the Rector of Ukhta University, where they outlined possible areas of bilateral cooperation, discussed ways of student exchange and mutual exchange of experience and information on research areas, and agreed to organize future meetings. After the meeting, representatives of both sides exchanged gifts. The guests had also some time to take a look at the training and production center "Gazprom Transgaz Ukhta".

On the final day of the visit members of the delegation took part in the All-Russian scientific conference "Problems of geology, development and exploitation of heavy oil and bitumen", at which the head of the delegation reported about "Venezuela's experience in the development of heavy and extra heavy oil as an example the Orinoco Oil Belt ".
