Volunteer forum "Support of volunteerism"
On September 23, 2018, the Republican volunteer forum "Support of volunteerism", dedicated to the year of volunteering in Russia was completed. The forum took place in Ukhta city from September 20. For four days, about 200 participants – high school students, university students, representatives of city organizations and public associations and five "silver" volunteers (volunteers older than 55 years) - attended more than ten lectures of Federal experts Ksenia Nazarenko and Timur Bochanov, trainers of the RSM (Association of trainers Of the Russian youth Union). Regional experts gave lectures.
The participants improved their knowledge on how to work with children, people with disabilities, difficult adolescents, the elderly, gained knowledge about the principles of creating a working team and the organization of effective communication. There were discussions about motivational and emotional burnout, discussed the creation of municipal volunteer centers and the development of volunteering in the region, immersed in project management and learned about the features of effective presentation.
On September 22, a solemn closing ceremony of the forum and awarding diplomas and prizes to 20 finalists of the regional stage of the all-Russian contest "Volunteer of Russia – 2018", held within the framework of the forum, took place. About 100 people took part in the regional stage. The contestants passed two tests: defense of their social project and self-presentation on the topic "I am a volunteer. My motivations, achievements, goals".
The forum "Support of volunteerism" received grant support at the all-Russian competition of youth projects among educational institutions of higher education and was held with the assistance of the Federal Agency for youth Affairs and the "Resource Youth Center".
The forum was organized by Ukhta State Technical University, the Ministry of education, science and youth policy of the Republic of Komi and the Republican center for support of youth initiatives.
