Knowledge Day at USTU

On September, 1st a traditional celebratory assembly devoted to Knowledge Day and World Day took place at the Ukhta State Technical University

At the assembly there were students and university teaching staff, honored guests from the republic, heads and representatives of USTU strategic partners, leading oil and gas companies, present undergraduates and graduates. USTU rector N. D. Tskhadaya, head of municipal entity "Ukhta" R. V. Melnik, deputy head of municipal entity "Ukhta" administration V. N. Telnov gave the speech to first-year students. Staff of elementary school “Rostok” also congratulated students.

Rector reported that the university educational structure has changed and since this year it will include four institutes: "Institute of geology, oil and gas production and pipeline transport" (it is created on the base of "Oil and gas institute" joining "Geological-Prospecting Faculty"); "Construction and technical institute" (it is created on the base of  "Institute of mechanics and technology of productions" joining "Architectural and construction faculty"); "Institute of economy, management and information technologies" (it is created on the base of "Economy and management institute" joining "Faculty of information technologies"); "Industrial institute (secondary professional education)" (it is created by merge of Mountain and oil college, Industrial technical school, Industrial – economic forest college of USTU).

Ukhta University keeps up traditions celebrating Knowledge Day: flag-raising, handing over a symbolical key of knowledge, bright balloons with faculty names, talented creative performances, friendly hospitality, all this creates the important, consolidated atmosphere of a holiday, inspires students for educational and scientific approach.

After the ceremony of the academic year beginning the first-year students took photographs and visited the departments according to specialities.
