A USTU representative took part in the Barents Plus Program meeting
From 31st October to 1st November, a meeting of the representatives of Norwegian and Russian universities participating in the Barents Plus international program was held in the city of Narvik (Norway), on the campus of the University of Tromsø - Arctic University of Norway. Ukhta State Technical University was represented at the meeting by the head of the international department Anton Grigoriev.
The two-day program of the meeting consisted of discussions on further directions for the development and improvement of the Barents Plus program, including questions of involving new participants from universities - motivated students and teachers from the Norwegian and Russian sides; improvement of the system for filling documents and reporting on the activities carried out; results of activities and exchanges; practical issues of implementing the Barents Plus program at the institutional level; ideas for the implementation of new directions for the project, for example, the organization and conduct of a workshop for enterprising teachers from universities in Russia and Norway on the implementation of international projects and cooperation; other directions of the project development.
During the meeting A. Grigoriev presented the experience of Ukhta University and made a presentation on "Promoting internationalization and international exchanges at the university: using social media as a tool for promoting internationalization at the university level".
Also, the guests were given a tour of the campus of the University of Tromsø in Narvik, during which the participants got acquainted with educational programs and university opportunities, and also talked with students who are studying at exchange programs in Narvik.
Information note: the Barents Plus program promotes the development and strengthening of cooperation in the field of education and research between the Norwegian and Russian sides of the Barents Region. Through the mutual exchange of teachers and students, the program contributes to raising the level of knowledge about the culture and history of the participating countries and establishing personal contacts.
