International students of USTU visited the boarding school of Ukhta
On Friday, 8th December, a few of our university's international students visited the local children's boarding school for an afternoon of laughter, knowledge and new friendships.
Students from Angola and Zimbabwe visited the orphanage and addressed a group of children for an hour and a half as they shared not only their experiences in Russia, but also talked about themselves. The visit began with the international students introducing themselves and answering a few questions about their degree choices, reasons for studying in Russia and many more about their adaptation to the cold weather. The afternoon proceeded with the Zimbabwean students' presentation of their country and their culture. They showed the children and patrons and the children's home their cultural dresses, traditional beads and also answered several questions. The Angolan students also showed a video which summed up their country's political, economical and tourist sectors and also responded to questions about their country.
By the end of the visit, the students managed to share about their countries, speak to the children in English and teach them a bit more about their cultures and answer many curious questions. But most importantly both parties had fun and enjoyed the visit.
