A Meeting of the Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions in the Komi Republic

On February 20, 2014, a meeting of the Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions in the Komi Republic, chaired by Professor Nikolai Denisovich Tskhadaya, rector of Ukhta State Technical University, was held in Syktyvkar Forest Institute.

The meeting was attended by: Nicholai Denisovich Tskhadaya, Chairman of the Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions in the Komi Republic, Rector of Ukhta State Technical University; Vice Chairpersons of the Board -  Ashab Magomedovich Askhabov, chairman of the presidium of KomiSC of Ural Division of RAS, Marina Dmitriyevna Istikhovskaya, Rector of Syktyvkar State University, Valentina Vasilyevna Zhideleva, Director of Syktyvkar Forest Institute; Nina Alexandrovna Nesterova, Rector of Komi Republican Academy of Public Service and Administration; Evgenia Petrovna Shebolkina, Rector of the Komi Republic Institute for Education Development; Vitaly Evgenyevich Lomov, Director of Komi Branch of Kirov State Medical Academy; Nikolay Mikhailovich Bolshakov, honorary President of Syktyvkar Forest Institute; Nadezhda Borisovna Dorofeyeva, Director of Syktyvkar Commerce and Technology College; Galina Panteleyevna Poltavskaya, Director of Syktyvkar Cooperative Technical School; Dmitry Anatolyevich Belyaev, Deputy Minister of Education of the Komi Republic; Mikhail Pavlovich Roshchevsky, Chief Researcher of KSC of UD of RAS; Alexander Viktorovich Golovko, Director of Syktyvkar branch of St. Petersburg State University of Service and Economics; Georgy Vladimirovich Danilov, Scientific Secretary of the Board; Mikhail Alexandrovich Dronov, Chairman of the Council of Veterans of Komi regional department of Russian student squads; Dmitry Nikolayevich Bezgodov, Vice-rector on Education and Social Issues of USTU.

The meeting opened with a solemn ceremony of signing an agreement on cooperation between the Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions in the Komi Republic and the Komi republic regional branch of the Russian public organization "National Parents Association of family support and protection of family values". On behalf of the Association, the Agreement was signed by Lyudmila Leonidovna Afanasyeva, chairman of the Komi regional branch of the Association, deputy of State Council of the Komi Republic. The signing was also attended by Svetlana Evgenyevna Litvina, deputy of the State Council of the Komi Republic.

During the meeting, a new position on the Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions in the Komi Republic was adopted. The following issues were discussed: work of Komi Higher Education Institutions to provide support and social protection of students from the group of orphans as well as children from large and low-income families; organization of an accessible environment for students with disabilities and health limitations; implementation of the Agreement on Strategic Cooperation between Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions in the Komi Republic and Komi republican branch of  "Russian Student Squads", Russian Youth Public Organization; organization and realization of the national youth convention "Youth as the Future of the Komi Republic"; consideration of items of the Agreement of Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions in the Komi Republic with Komi republican branch of "Russian Geographical Society".

Council members considered proposals of the universities aimed at adjustment of the "Concept of modernization of vocational education in the Komi Republic" for the period after 2015, and shared their experiences in the development of physical culture and sports in the universities and colleges of the Komi Republic.
