LUKOIL Vice-President Alexander Leyfrid Pays Working Visit to USTU

Оn March 24, 2015 led by Alexander Leyfrid, Director General of LUKOIL-Komi LLC - Vice-President of LUKOIL JSC, the delegation of LUKOIL-Komi top management paid visit to Ukhta State Technical University.

Visiting Ukhta University was one of the key elements of the first day of Mr. Leyfrid's working visit to Ukhta. Guests appreciated the laboratory facilities of the Technical University, which allows to train highly qualified staff for the oil industry and for the company LUKOIL-Komi, as well as visited a unique USTU museum, where they got acquainted with the exhibition items within the concept "Ukhta - the birthplace of the first Russian oil." 

During his visit to Ukhta State Technical University, Alexander Leyfrid held a working meeting with Professor Nikolay Tskhadaya, USTU rector, Deputy Chairman of the National consortium of higher education institutions of mineral resources and fuel & energy complexes. The parties touched upon a wide range of issues concerning the development of human resources and industrial potential of LUKOIL-Komi, as well as various current cooperation projects between the university and the company allowing to bring the secondary vocational and higher education training programmes more in line with the requirements of today's oil industry and JSC LUKOIL.

In addition, during the workshop the parties agreed to continue the multilateral cooperation aimed at attaining research and innovative potential of one of USTU leading scientific schools dealing with the development of high-viscosity oil fields.

Georgy Korshunov, Vice-Rector for external affairs - Chief of staff in the Rector's Office described the dynamics of cooperation between the university and LUKOIL-Komi as follows: "The strategic partnership between Ukhta University and LUKOIL-Komi is one of the top priorities of our university development strategy determined by the rector Nikolay Tskhadaya. Our constant and long-term cooperation makes it possible to effectively implement projects in education, research, innovation, design, social, sports and cultural sectors. One of the numerous results of our work is the fact that each year more than 150 USTU graduates are employed by the fast-growth company LUKOIL-Komi, which is now more than ever interested in young and high-potential staff for its structural subdivisions in the Timan-Pechora".
