Conference "Education of international students and export of educational services" at USTU

On 28th April, 2016 there was the first conference on the international affairs called "Education of international students and he export of educational services" at Ukhta State Technical University. The lead in arranging the conference was taken by the International Department. The need to discuss ways of trainings of international students grew up because of increasing number of students arriving from abroad at university every year. Currently, there are about 500 international students from 30 countries at USTU.

The main objectives of the conference were the generalization and systematization of  Ukhta University's experience and other institutions of the Komi Republic and Russia in matters of education and socialization of foreign citizens. The conference included 4 sections: Section 1 "Organization of adaptation measures for international students by universityservices"; Section 2 "Round table between international students trained at preparatory departments of universities - participants of Consortium"; Section 3 "Education of international students in Russian educational institutions of higher and secondary vocational education"; Section 4 "Russian as a foreign language at the stage of preliminary training in Russian higher education system".

The first two sections, which were attended by 3 universities: Russian State Geological Prospecting University MGRI-RSGPU (Moscow), Ufa State Petroleum Technological University (Ufa) and Tyumen Industrial University (Tyumen), were held in the form of a webinar. Doubtless, the most exciting part for international students was Section 2, where students of the preparatory courses from different universities could remotely communicate with each other and ask questions on different topics. In addition, each party has prepared for each other a short video demonstrating how international students spend their academic and extra-curricular days in Russian universities. The guys definitely got a lot of new emotions and were satisfied with the event, and even a temporary communication failure could not overshadow the overall impression of the meeting.
