Ukhta State Technical University

On May 29 under the Distinguished Lecturer programme, implemented by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Ukhta State Technical University hosted a lecture of the Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, academician of the Academy of Natural Sciences, the scientific leader of the Arctic Oil and Gas Technologies at Gubkin RSU of Oil and Gas, Anatoly Zolotukhin.

On Sunday, May 11 Ukhta House of Culture hosted annual recital of USTU dance group «United Bit», entitled «World of Hip Hop Dance».

Participating in the concert were all the members of the dance group, including the youngest dancers. The evening's programme included 17 acts; with four of them Ukhta dancers won prizes at Russian and international competitions over the years.

Ninth season of field expeditions of Ukhtinets search party is finished: on May 6 searchers of Ukhta State Technical University, twelve students and their team leader, Associate Professor at the Department of History and Culture, Vladimir Nikolayevich Bublichenko, returned from Memory Watch.

On April 17, the human resources manager of the Company Wintershall Russland GmbH, Ekaterina Ksennikova paid a working visit to Ukhta State Technical University.

From 07 to 11 April, students of the Institute of Economics and Management of Ukhta State Technical University took part in the XIV All-Russian Festival of students and professors with international participation of “PR is the profession of the third millennium”, which was held at the Saint- Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI”.

On April 4, 2014, a working meeting of the Rector of the University , Professor Nikolay Tskhadaya with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivian Republic of Venezuela in the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Armenia, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, Mr. Juan Vicente Paredes Torrealba took place.

At the end of last week a delegation of Nakhchivan State University (Azerbaijan) paid a working visit to Ukhta. The delegation included rector of NSU, Doctor of Biological Sciences, professor Saleh Magerramov and head of the NSU Department of Chemistry , Ph.D. in Chemistry, Professor Tawfiq Aliyev. Guests from the former Union Republic arrived in our city on April 3, and they immediately took a tour of the sights of Ukhta. Also, representatives of the Nakhchivan University met with the leaders of our city.

USTU Rector, Nikolai Tskhadaya (Deputy Chairman of National Research and Educational Innovation and Technology Consortium of universities of mineral raw materials and fuel and energy complex) participated in the 7th Russian-German Raw Materials Conference in Dresden, from 1 to 3 April.

On March 31 a solemn opening of "Volunteer Week" was held at USTU. Such event is being held for the first time and is aimed at attracting attention of students to volunteer movements.

On the last day of March the warmest and kindest week - Volunteer Week started in Ukhta University. The opening was held in a friendly and warm atmosphere, as each of the heads of volunteer associations talked passionately about the activities of his/her areas.
