The celebration of the new school year

This year’s Knowledge Day, contrary to tradition, took place on September 2. A new page in life has begun for first-year students of Ukhta State Technical University. Teachers, guests of the holiday and freshmen lined up in a hall decorated with colorful balloons and bright signs. After the banners of the Russian Federation, the Komi Republic and the Ukhta State Technical University were introduced and the hymns were played, the floor was given to the President of the Ukhta State Technical University, Professor Nikolay Tskhadai:

USTU was visited by the President of the Academy of Mining Sciences

On August 8, 2019, in the office of LUKOIL - Engineering LLC in Ukhta, a meeting was held under the leadership of the President of the Academy of Mining Sciences, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yuri Malyshev. USTU vice-rector for scientific work Ivan Kurta also took part in the working meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the prospects for the development of the Yarega super-viscous oil field.

A USTU Student Took Part in the 5th Korean Arctic Academy

From July 3 to July 13, 2019, the Arctic Academy was held in Busan (South Korea) for the fifth time - a ten-day educational event dedicated to the problems of sustainable development of the Arctic and the Arctic regions. This year the Arctic Academy gathered more than 30 students. Irena Ulyanitskaya, 3rd year student, represented Ukhta University at the event.

Good Luck, Graduates - 2019!

On June 29, 2019, a solemn graduation ceremony was held for USTU graduates - 2019. The Acting Rector of the University Dmitry Belyaev addressed the graduates with a welcoming speech: “Graduation is a significant event in the student life. This is the completion of an important stage, and, as you know, the completion is always the beginning of something new. So let new professional initiatives become successful and beneficial for you. ” Dmitry Belyaev expressed his wish that the graduates always be surrounded by worthy friends and colleagues.

Exchange Education in Norway Under the Erasmus+ Program, part 2

We continue to publish personal impressions of USTU students - participants of the Erasmus+ Program. Endzela Amaglobeli (1st year master’s student in Management): “In winter 2019, I began my studies at Nord University in Bodo under the Erasmus+ Program. The university provides a wide range of courses and the freedom to choose a field of activity. For me personally, the most important subjects were those that could complement and expand my education in Russia."

Exchange Education in Norway Under the Barents Plus Program

Danil Matveev (the 2nd year student of the specialty “Technological Machines and Equipment”): “I was lucky to become a member of the Barents Plus Program and studied one spring semester in the Norwegian city of Tromso. I am very grateful to our university for that opportunity. At the beginning, I could not believe that the international academic exchange was real. Firstly, everything seemed unaccustomed in Tromso — different weather, surroundings, people.

Exchange Education in Norway Under the Erasmus+ Program

USTU first-year graduate student in Management, Nikita Degtev took part in the Erasmus+ Academic Mobility Program. From January to June 2019 he studied at the Nord University (Bodo, Norway). It became possible due to the agreement between the USTU and Nord University. Having returned, the participant shared his impressions and experience, highlighting some features that distinguish Norwegian Education from Russian Higher Education.

Student of the USTU - Volunteer of the 6th Forum of the Future Leaders of the World Petroleum Council

During the week, from June 23, a student of the “Advertising and Public Relations” direction, intern of the USTU international department, Azeez Adebiyi took part as a volunteer in the 6th Forum of Future Leaders of the World Petroleum Council. The organizer of the event is the Russian National Committee of the World Petroleum Council. The organizing committee is headed by Alexander Novak, the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation.

Anniversary Graduate of the Preparatory Department of the USTU International Department

On June 28, 2019, a solemn ceremony of awarding certificates to graduates of the Preparatory Department of the USTU International Department took place. The event was a kind of anniversary: this year, the hundredth student received his final certificate- Ndlovu Nobleman Dumisa from Zimbabwe.

Without a doubt, the  obtainment of certificates is the most expected and exciting event in the life of future graduates of the preparatory department, it is the beginning of a new stage on the way to higher education.
