October 4, near the house of life "Service" was the Grand opening of the monument to the first Russian oilman Fyodor Pryadunov. This event is doubly significant for USTU staff and for all Ukhta residents, and in connection with the work on the social and communicative project "Ukhta – the birthplace of the first Russian oil", which has been implemented by the University for nine years. The semantic focus of the project is the personality of Theodore Fyodor Pryadunov.

In mid-September in Ukhta State Technical University welcomed 2 young Fulbright lecturers from the United States: Anna Louise Campbell and Michelle Christine Schulte. The American women came on a leading international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and aimed at strengthening mutual understanding between the United States and Russia.

This year’s Knowledge Day, contrary to tradition, took place on September 2. A new page in life has begun for first-year students of Ukhta State Technical University. Teachers, guests of the holiday and freshmen lined up in a hall decorated with colorful balloons and bright signs.
