Nicholas Ourusoff is no stranger to the USTU community. He is an American lecturer of Russian origin who teaches at the department of computer science, information systems and technologies of the university.

Finnish Club: Discover Finland

For the first time in the history of USTU there is finally a chance to get to know Finland, land of heavy music, silence, ice hockey and salmiakki. With the beginning of school year, the first Finnish club was launched on 7th September, 2017, at 5 pm at the international department of USTU (office 321/1 "A").

Competition in nature photography "DiscoverBarents"

The International Department informs about the international competition in nature photography "DiscoverBarents", which will be held from 14th August, 2017 to 31st October, 2017.

The contest is open to everyone who is interested in photography and is ready to share the impressive beauty of the nature of the Barents region.

The winners will be awarded with prizes.

Study in Iceland

18.08.2017 to 01.12.2017

The Icelandic Ministry of Education, Science and Culture awards annually a number of scholarships for studies in Icelandic as a second language at the University of Iceland, Reykjavík. The scholarship program is administrated by the Árni Magnússon Institute for Icelandic Studies. Approximately 15 scholarships are available for the period from September 1st 2018 to April 30th 2019.

The intern from Finland at USTU

Today, on 15th August, 2017, a Finnish citizen, Söyrinki Siiri Meri arrived in Ukhta. For three months (August-November, 2017) she will be trained at the international department of USTU.

In January 2017, the international department prepared and sent an application for a grant to the Finnish National Agency for Education CIMO to attract an intern from Finland. In May 2017, the application was approved, which resulted in the arrival of an intern.

8th Model of Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM)

09.08.2017 to 03.09.2017

If you are a student between 18-30 years old, having sincere interest in international relations, being from one of partner countries of ASEM, speaking English very well, you can take part in the 8th Model ASEM, which will take place on 15-20 November 2017 in Naypyidaw, Myanmar.

The open call is open up to 3rd September 2017.
