Ukhta State Technical University

On January 1, 2014 34 students of the Komi Republic went to work at the Olympic facilities in Sochi. These are students from 3 universities of Komi, namely USTU, SSU and Syktyvkar branch of St. Petersburg State University of Service and Economics.

18 students of Ukhta State Technical University, 5 students of Syktyvkar State University students and 11 students of Syktyvkar Branch of St. Petersburg State University of Service and Economics are already working at the Olympic facilities as drop-off/pick-up team leaders and supervisors at checkpoints.

So many people, so many traditions... Someone gets rid of old things on New Year, and someone goes to the bath, as it was done by the main character in the famous film. As for senior students from Vuktyl, on the New Year, they come to our university with a two-day excursion fourth consecutive time.

On January 18, Ukhta State Technical University was visited by the Martial Arts Master, founder of the Knife Fighting School, social activist, Presidential Adviser on Security of Ingushetia, Andrei Kochergin.

The Timan-Pechora professional section's SPE program «Distinguished Lecturers» remains operational in Ukhta State Technical University.

On Thursday, January 16, a lecture of American scholar and professor, the leading specialist of «Halliburton Fellow (Drilling)» Dr. G. Robello Samuel was held in the physics lecture-hall.

Starting from 2014, Index-Rating System (IRS), performance assessment of students will be implemented at Ukhta State Technical University.

On January 3-8 on the basis of Ukhta State Technical University open Republican athletic dance rally «New Dance Generation Winter Camp» took place.

 On 10-11 January, at Ukhta Ice Palace named after Sergei Kapustin, took place the Russian ice Hockey Championships between women's teams. Old rivals met at the ice arena. They were ice hockey team "Arctic University" and "Tyumen Foxes".

These matches were decisive for Ukhta club. "Tyumen Foxes" team was ahead of "Arctic University" in the championship standings just in one line, and much depended on the outcome of these meetings.

On Friday, December 27, International Department of Ukhta State Technical University invited everyone to the pre-Christmas cup of tea.

Informal communication was helpful for students, planning their studying abroad.

Ukhta State Technical University and the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) have signed a cooperation agreement.

On December 24, in Moscow, the Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, Kosachev Konstantin, and USTU Rector, Professor Nikolai Tskhadaya, have signed a document, which provides cooperation between the parties for the development, promotion and support of Russian education abroad.

On December 13, 186 delegates from 49 educational institutions of Komi Republic took part in the eleventh anniversary regional youth scientific conference competition "Integration".
