On Friday, December 27, International Department of Ukhta State Technical University invited everyone to the pre-Christmas cup of tea.

Informal communication was helpful for students, planning their studying abroad.

Ukhta State Technical University and the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) have signed a cooperation agreement.

On December 24, in Moscow, the Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, Kosachev Konstantin, and USTU Rector, Professor Nikolai Tskhadaya, have signed a document, which provides cooperation between the parties for the development, promotion and support of Russian education abroad.

On December 13, 186 delegates from 49 educational institutions of Komi Republic took part in the eleventh anniversary regional youth scientific conference competition "Integration".

Ukhta University was visited by the representatives of Wintershall Holding GmbH Company (Germany), Eric Lessner, and Aaron Behr as well as by the representative of Siemens Company, Andreas Koch. The main purpose of the visit was to discuss issues related to the test of the technology proposed by foreigners in Yarega field.

In May of this year, USTU joined the universities participating in the program FIRST (Russian- Finnish student exchange program). The purpose of this program is to develop student and faculty exchanges. The program is funded by the Ministry of Education of Finland.

Ukhta basketball club "Planet - University" and Moscow "Dynamo" signed a strategic cooperation agreement at sports complex "Burevestnik".

On Saturday, October 19, took place IX job fair at the same time in nine municipalities of Komi Republic. For the first time it included video feed with the participation of more than 20 companies of the region. Job fair at Ukhta was organized at the Industrial College of Ukhta State Technical University.

Within three hours, visitors of the fair got information about vacancies and promotional materials about employment, they also wrote summaries, filled out questionnaires, and asked questions to the employers.

On Monday, October 1, at a meeting between representative of "LUKOIL- Komi" and USTU students they discussed how to get a scholarship, to take Student Practice in "LUKOIL" Company, or to become an intern perspective of a major oil company.

On Saturday, October 12, a two-day inter-regional scientific-practical conference "The role of universities in the implementation of Russia’s Arctic strategy: technological, environmental, socio-cultural aspects", dedicated to the Year of environmental protection in Russia, was completed at Ukhta State Technical University.

On October 31, at the "L" Hall of Ukhta State Technical University, there was a solemn opening of a student library named after Y. A. Spiridonov, an event dedicated to 75th anniversary of the first Head of Komi Republic, the deputy of the State Duma of the fourth convocation, Professor of Ukhta State Technical University, Yuri Alekseevich Spiridonov.
