Оn March 24, 2015 led by Alexander Leyfrid, Director General of LUKOIL-Komi LLC - Vice-President of LUKOIL JSC, the delegation of LUKOIL-Komi top management paid visit to Ukhta State Technical University.

On March 5, 2015 Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation signed an order to approve an action plan to promote vocational and engineering professions. The executive order of the President of Russia of May 7, 2012 №597 'On measures to implement state social policy' directed the government to increase the number of highly skilled professionals by 2020.

At the beginning of March everyone who enjoys Portuguese could attend lessons of the Portuguese language arranged by the International Department of USTU. The lessons are conducted by a native Portuguese speaker Jose Massunga who comes from Angola.

At the first lesson Jose showed all the advantages of studying Portuguese. One of the most important reason is that the Portuguese language is widely used in many countries such as Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Cape Verde, Giunea-Bissau, Mozambique, Equatorial Guinea and even in some parts of China.

On Tuesday, March 10 Ukhta State Technical University hosted awarding of certificates to undergraduate and postgraduate students who in February followed a five-day course of lectures delivered by not-for-profit TOTAL Professors Association.

The joint application for a grant under the US-Russia Peer-to-Peer Dialogue Program has been filed in the US State Department. The application has been prepared in conjunction with Texas Tech University, USA. 

Ukhta State Technical University and the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) signed a work plan for 2015.

On 1st March, 2015 international students of the preparatory course by the International Department took part in winter competition, which were held not far from the health resort of USTU “Planeta Universitet”.

It was their first camping to the north forest. During winter competition international students had a good opportunity to communicate with professional sportsmen and try their hands at camping activities, but the most interesting was overcoming the obstacle by zip line.

On Wednesday, February 12, led by the Company's first vice-president Maxim Grishanin a delegation of OJSC AK Transneft paid visit to Ukhta State University. The visit was aimed at getting acquainted with the possibilities of Ukhta State Technical University, which is a center for training engineers to be employed by the company's enterprises, in particular, by JSC Transneft-Sever.

During  this week a delegation of specialists form nonprofit Association of Teachers of Total Group and the company Total E&P Russie will work at Ukhta State Technical University. The representatives of the international concern engaged in hydrocarbon exploration and production, marketing and trading arrived to Ukhta for the first time.
