Introduce your country

No wonder that inhabitants of Ukhta town, where you can seldom meet a person with different skin colour and exotic eye shape, have always been interested in foreigners. Especially when we are talking about pupils of schools and lyceums, who would like to become friends with representatives of other culture and language. Last Friday, on 2nd October, such an opportunity was given to them by International Department together with museum clerks of USTU, who organized the event called “Introduce your country”.

A teacher of Russian from Ghana visited USTU

Last Saturday, on 26th September, a very unusual lesson was given to the first group of the preparatory course arranged by International Department of USTU. It was taught by Linda Abigail, a teacher of Russian from Ghana, a future candidate of Philological Sciences in the Russian language.

English with native speakers from the USA

A week ago two teachers from the USA arrived in the town of Ukhta for completing their internship at the Ukhta University. Kathryne and Victoria are going to teach English for all the students of USTU at the department of foreign languages from September, 2015 till June, 2016.

One week earlier another US teacher, Nicholas Ourusoff, came to the Ukhta University to teach in English at the department of computer science, information systems and technologies.

The Russian language course has started

14th September, 2015 will be remembered by the international students of the preparatory course organized by International department as a starting point on the way of studying the Russian language, because on that day students from far-abroad countries began their Russian language lessons with the experienced teacher Nadezhda Konstantinovna Svirchevskaya.

Orientation week for international students of USTU

Less than a week ago a new group of international students from Nigeria, Ghana, Congo, Mexico, Nepal and Pakistan arrived at the town of Ukhta for learning the Russian language. But before starting their lessons they needed to get to know the town and the university they are going to live in and study. Events of the orientation week arranged by International department of USTU were meant to help the students in it.

The Knowledge Day is just around the corner. A few days more and all the students will sink into the ocean of lectures, seminars, laboratory works, practicals. If it is a simple thing for Russian students, but for citizens, who have come to Ukhta University from far-abroad countries, the beginning of the study year in Russia will be a really memorable moment.

Delegation of Rectors of Russia’s Mineral and Oil & Gas Universities Taking Part in St. Petersburg International Economic Forum

On May 22 the congress hall of Ukhta State Technical University hosted an unusual concert dedicated to the celebration of Africa Day. USTU international students who came from African countries organized it for students, university staff and all residents of Ukhta interested in the event.

On April 27 representatives of companies from Finland and China paid a business visit to Ukhta State Technical University (USTU). The purpose of their trip was to get acquainted with the industry of the Komi Republic, exchange experience and implement the plans for further cooperation.

On March 27 (Friday) Yulia N. Lebedeva, corporate events and internal communications specialist, the company Wintershall Russland GmbH, paid a working visit to Ukhta to make a presentation of the Young Vision Award contest for USTU students and teachers.
